Show Me The Money!
If you are a sports fan, specifically a football fan, you are well aware of the "problems" associated with Terrell Owens. If you're not a fan, let me lay the groundwork... the guy literally makes MILLIONS of dollars a year. $47 million dollar contract over 7 years. If you're good at math (or have a calculator like me) that is in the neighborhood of $6.75 MILLION a year. Now, I'm sure he got a signing bonus for this contract and I'm really unsure if that amount is included in the total... but I'm guessing not. So, add another $10 MILLION on to that total. Oh, and endorsements (I'm still surprised he isn't a spokesman for Sharpie)... add another couple MILLION onto his annual income. And yet, even with all of this money, he is unhappy. He's unhappy and is spouting off, being a malcontent, causing problems, being a general pain-in-the-ass and getting kicked out of practice.
Really, can you blame the guy? He's one of the absolute best receivers in the game! He's only making 6.75 MILLION a year (plus bonus, plus endorsements). He should be getting paid at LEAST 10 MILLION a year! DAMMIT!
Now, is it me, or does the difference between 6.75 Million and 10 Million seem PRETTY FUCKING INSIGNIFICANT? It's kind of like the difference between $1.00 and $2.00. Sure, I could buy two things at the Dollar Store rather than one, but really, what's the point? So, if you have 6.75 Million every year coming to you for 7 straight years... you're not going to be happy until you get 10 Million a year? Look, I make somewhere around $40,000 a year. Over 7 years, I'll have made $280,000. Take out taxes (we'll say 25%) and I've made $210,000. Jeez, gotta pay bills. Take off $120,000 for that. That leaves me $90,000 over the course of 7 years to spend on myself and family. With TO, say they take 50% in taxes. That leaves $23.5 MILLION. We'll go extravagant on bills... $10,000 a month (car(s) payments, mortgage, child support...)... that totals $840,000 over 7 years. We'll even round up to $1 million dollars. That leaves $22.5 MILLION. Lets make it even more because I have NO IDEA how a rich person lives... we'll make it $30,000 a month in bills. That's $2.5 Million. That leaves $21 Million. So, $21 MILLION over 7 years is $3 MILLION a year. $90,000 over 7 years is $12,857 per year. This FUCKER is pissed? He's unhappy? WHAT THE FUCK? YOU WHINING CRY-BABY SELF-SERVING SON-OF-A-BITCH! I won't make the kind of money you make in a year in my entire fucking lifetime and YOU are unhappy? FUCK YOU TO.
