Rules Rules Rules
Ok, so I was recently informed that the state of Missouri (right next door) is proposing a law that would basically shut the strip clubs down.
Now, let me preface this by stating that I am happily married and very, very rarely visit any type of strip-club. The last one I went to was for a bachelor party a few months ago and before that it had probably been 3 years since I'd been to one. Really, not a big deal to me. I mean, I've seen tits before. Big ones, little ones, doesn't matter. I've seen naked women before... watch any R rated movie... naked women. Strip clubs are basically a damn good way to waste $100 (or more, depending on your mood). So, I choose not to go. But, it's my choice. There are those, and before I got married, I was one of those, that choose to frequent these places. Hey, they've got the money, the time and the desire. The women working there are also making the choice... they decide to work there. Nobody twists their nipples until they give in and dance. Most strippers, at least the one's I've met, enjoy what they do and they enjoy the money they make even more.
So, to the main subject here. The state of Missouri is ?trying/has? to pass a law that would do the following things: Make all strip clubs close by 10:00 pm or 11:00 pm (I've heard conflicting reports), all dancers must be separated from the general public by a barrier of some sort (i've heard anything from glass walls to a simple rail), and all "private" dances would require the dancer to remain 10 FEET away from the patron getting the dance. Ok, so who in their right mind would go to a strip club with these rules? I mean, rent a porn movie and you'll see (and feel, I'm sure) lots more than you'd get at a strip club with these laws. Well, I'm guessing nobody would go to the strip bars anymore. And, I think that is probably the intent of the lawmakers. Take away the fun from the "sinners" and they shall repent.
Here's my question... What the FUCK are the people of Missouri paying for? So, say I live in Missouri (which I don't, thank God). I'm a hard working guy, support my family, make decent money, pay my taxes (like I have a choice). My kid's schools are going to hell and drugs are rampant in the neighborhoods. The highways are HORRIBLE (ever driven on I-70 in Missouri?). Police forces are severely understaffed, prisons are overcrowded. Teachers are in high demand, but there are few to be had. Basically, we're all just barely getting by. And my friggin state government is working their asses off... to get rid of STRIP CLUBS.
Why you may ask... Because visiting these places is a SIN. That's right. It's a sin. Nevermind the fact that rape, murder, drugs and numerous other things that plague our cities, states... entire country... are sins. What the good people of Missouri have to worry the MOST about are those damn strip clubs.
Now, I'm a 32 year old man. I can make the decision to join the military and die for my country. I can make the decision to drive my car 100 mph and hope I don't get caught. I can make the decision to drink, do drugs, have illicit sex, rape, murder... but I can't make the decision to go spend $100 and see some naked women dance. THAT must be controlled!
Now, maybe they think that strip clubs are "havens" for drugs and sex. I say they are "havens" for a guy to get away for a bit, drink a couple beers, see some boobs and go home. The MAJORITY of men that go to strip clubs do not go there looking for drugs or sex (although most probably wish they could GET sex from some of those girls). But, the state of Missouri feels they must regulate these places! Nip it in the bud! Stop the sinners!
So, the taxpayers are paying their government to waste their hard-earned money on regulating HOW a man can keep himself entertained and HOW he gets to see his boobs. Porn movies will be in high demand in Missouri I'm sure. And, I bet the folks over here in Kansas that run strip clubs and probably the kansas government is jumping for joy at the idiots in Missouri. Just think of all those men in KCMO that are going to be coming to the Kansas side for their stripper fix. Bachelor parties? Go to Kansas! We can actually DRINK at the strip clubs in Kansas! We can actually stay out past 10:00 pm at the strip clubs in Kansas! We can actually get a LAP DANCE... not some weird 10 foot away from me dance... in KANSAS!
I'm so glad I don't live in Missouri. If the Kansas government tried to do something moronic like this, I'd probably have to write my congressman... or protest and move somewhere that they don't try to tell me, a law abiding, tax paying citizen, how to live.
END OF RANT!
