The Moronic Media

Watching the Daily Show the other day and I just had to comment on something. My wife and I have joked about this exact thing over the past few years. It is amazing to me exactly how STUPID the media can be. No, not just the LIBERAL media or the CONSERVATIVE media or FOX News (What are they, anyway?) No, I'm talking every single news station in the US that I have ever seen. Local, National, doesn't matter. STUPID. I'll give an example...

As seen on the Daily Show... Fox news doing a report about NOT pampering to the "terrorists" and giving them media coverage. Hmmmmm..... Isn't that EXACTLY what you are fucking doing? By doing a "report" on that subject, you are going against the basic principle of the report in the first place!!!!

Another example... A few months after 9/11, the wife and I were watching the news here in KC. There was a report on how the hijackers got their pilot's licenses and how they eventually got into the planes and brought them down. Details. Where they went to school, what courses they took, their plans, their methods. I looked at my wife and she looked at me and said, "Are they fucking stupid?" (She may not have said "fucking" but if she didn't, she should have) Let's tell the terrorists, in DETAIL, exactly how they should be going about their terrorism plots. Let's not just tell them, let's tell EVERY FUCKING TERRORIST WATCHING TV how they should do.

One more example (just for good measure)... A report about a "sting" operation involving online predators. This was like a 3 segment piece over 3 days. They followed the "sting", showed those involved (not the officers), showed the tactics used to attract the predators and the how they were caught. Now, I'm not the brightest guy in the world (it's true!), but why the FUCK would you tell everyone exactly how you are going about arresting these people? Shouldn't that be kept a secret so they don't figure it out and avoid it?

Last one (I swear!)... A report about how susceptible America's water supply is. Talking about how terrorists could easily put something into water supplies all over the US. Is it me, or is that the stupidest damn thing to tell people? I mean, really. Why go and tell the terrorists where our weak spots are? Why? Let them figure that shit out on their own! Damn! Do you think a Roman Gladiator went and told everyone there was a weak spot in the armor right near the armpit? NO! Someone figured it out! The Gladiators knew all about it! They weren't about to tell everyone! Did Michael Jackson tell the world he has a weak spot for kids? NO! He kept it secret until he got caught! Ok, bad example, but you get my point.

The media is just plain STUPID!
